No more breakouts despite makeup woes

A smooth powder base, perfectly shaped brows, a dash of colors on the cheeks and lip tint can do wonders to the face. For those who wish to always look their best, wearing light make up every day is now part of their daily routine.

Makeup—who can live without them? But above everything else, consider safety when choosing that next set of foundation, blusher, eye shadow or lip color that magically enhances your facial features.

That’s because no two people are the same. Don’t just rely on the word of your bestie or office colleague who tells you that this or that makeup set is best for your face. Always remember that just because it worked for them doesn’t necessarily means it will work for you, too. Since cosmetic products are generally made up of chemicals and other substances, these may have dissimilar effects on certain skin among people who use makeup frequently.

Some face powders or blushers can cover the pores, thus making it harder for our natural skin to breathe that can lead to skin irritation and acne break outs. Cake foundation or liquid powder, on the other hand, can grow bacteria when not properly stored. Even frequent usage of certain cosmetic tools that touch the face like brushes, applicators, and sponges are likewise vulnerable to bacteria that can cause irritation and can lead to breakouts or pimples.

For some, wearing too much make up can also cause wrinkles, especially when applying eye make-up where the delicate area around the eye is often pulled and tugged. This may cause skin damage resulting to pre-mature wrinkles.

But don’t fret, daily makeup users. You can still protect your skin from breakouts even if you apply makeup on your face day in and day out. Just remember to thoroughly clean your face before calling it the day. You will not only remove possibly harmful substances on your face but you also give your pores a chance to breathe.

Take note as well to read the expiration date of your blushers and lip colors (yes, pimples may also erupt on the lip line, too). It doesn’t hurt to read the label, just so you can avoid skin irritation and breakouts. Regularly throw out your old makeup and remember not to share your make-up or applicators with others.

And take note that there is also a more advanced skin care routine that can help give you that added protection for your skin due to breakouts caused by daily makeup use.  Proactiv+ 3 Step Clear Skin System has Smart Target technology that delivers acne-fighting formulation directly into the pores.
The 3-step system starts with a Smoothing Exfoliator facial cleanser which removes excess dirt and other impurities. The exfoliator is applied on damp skin and rinsed with warm water after two minutes.

The second step is called the Pore Targeting treatment. It stops the acne at the source because it delivers blemish-fighting ingredient directly into the pore. The lotion is applied all over face to allow full absorption.
The final process of the Proactiv+ 3 Step Clear Skin System hydrates the skin with the Complexion Perfect Hydrator. The moisturizer will reduce redness, help lighten acne marks and help brighten skin.
The Proactiv+ 3-Stem Clear Skin System is available at Watsons and SM Department stores nationwide. Proactiv+ 30 day kit is sold at Php3,250 and includes the Skin Smoothing Exfoliator 60 ml, Pore Targeting Treatment 30ml  and the Complexion Perfecting Hydrator 30 ml while the Proactiv+ 60 day kit is sold at Php4,680 and includes Skin Smoothing Exfoliator 120 ml, Pore Targeting Treatment 60ml, and Complexion Perfecting Hydrator 60 ml.
